One of the best parts of NaNoWriMo is the community of writers who get involved. Each region has write-ins for different cities and towns, where groups of Wrimos get together and write. It’s a fun social event during a time where social gatherings outside of NaNo are thin. At write-ins we have word wars, where we spend ten to twenty minutes to do nothing but write as fast as we can. When the time is up, we calculate how much we’ve written during that time, and determine who won.
My area’s write-ins happen on Thurday nights, tonight was the first meeting. We did several word wars, and my final word count came out to be over 2,600. That’s not counting all the words I had already written before the write-in, and all the words I wrote at the write-in outside of the wars. This makes my word count for today to be over 5,000. I also got to wrote several exciting scenes. Overall, a good day for me.
Current word count for The Clockwork Heartbeat: 23557/50,000!
Until next time,
